1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. These shoes are much longer than 9.5 and because the instep is high, they don’t hold the heel at all. An insole from my husband’s men’s athletic shoes size 9X (3E) (add 1.5 for women’s size) fits ideally inside and then the shoes feel just right in the toes, but the heel still slips out. True, I have a low instep, but the insole is exactly 11″ long(!) and there is still space behind my heel, when I scoot my foot all the way forward. Other than the size problems, the shoe looks well-made and is very comfy and well cushioned. There is little arch support though. Unless you have very high insteps, I would order a half size smaller and if you are between the widths, would go with the smaller width, unless you are planning on inserting a custom orthotic. I exchanged them for 9M and they fit snugly in the toes, but very likely will widen, since the leather is soft. I wore them to work for three days in a row with only slight discomfort in a bunion in the evening. This is much much better than most shoes I buy.
